Christopher Duffy currently leads cybersecurity and penetration testing engagements globally. He has a specialization in advanced technical testing, including penetration testing and security assessment done to evaluate an organization's security strategy from a malicious actor's perspective. Chris has led, managed, and executed over 400 engagements for Fortune 500 companies, U.S. government entities, medical providers and payers, educational institutes, financial services, research organizations, and cloud providers. For almost a decade prior to private sector work, Chris was a cyber warfare specialist, senior systems engineer, and network infrastructure supervisor for the United States Air Force (USAF). He has been honored with numerous technical and leadership awards. Some of these include the (ISC)2 Information Security Leadership Award (ISLA) for the information security practitioner category in 2013, the noncommissioned officer of the year (both at the base and wing levels) in 2011, and the top technician within the cyber transport career field for the United States Air Force (USAF) Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Agency. He is a distinguished graduate of USAF network warfare training and has publications to his credit in SANS Reading Room, Hackin9 magazine, eForensics magazine and PenTest magazine. He holds 23 certifications, a degree in computer science, and a master's degree in information security and assurance.

Develop your own pentesting tools with Python

This textbook served as a detailed technical overview and guide for conducting network and system attacks using tools that you will build. You are first introduced to established assessment methodologies, to include the Open Source Security Testing Methodology Manual (OSSTMM), The Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP), and the Penetration Testing Execution Standard (PTES). The PTES is the primary methodology referenced in the book.

Several well-known and established penetration testing tools are covered, to include Metasploit, NMAP, Veil, and John the Ripper. An introductory chapter on Python coding is included for readers who have not used Python extensively before. The book covers nearly every phase in many cyber-attack methodologies, to include initial recon, exploitation, brute force attacks, lateral movement, and exploit development, all of which are covered from a Python developer's point-of-view. The author provided enough preliminary review information in each chapter to ensure the reader understands what is occurring and what is being affected with penetration tools they are developing.

Surprisingly applicable and extremely useful...

The best part about this book is that it isn't like the hundreds of others that make assumptions about prior knowledge. I was able to take it, understand its concepts, and apply them without having to look too far beyond. Some knowledge of penetration testing methodology and basic programming concepts apply, but this book doesn't require you to have taken advanced computer science sources prior to picking it up, understanding it, and applying it immediately. Very well done.

Learning Penetration Testing with Python by Christopher Duffy is a must have. This book takes the reader through the fundamentals of penetration testing in an easy-to-read fashion while demonstrating the functionality of Python and its uses in penetration testing. Unlike other hacking with Python books, this work does not assume that the reader is familiar with Python. This work does an excellent job of explaining key Python concepts at an introductory level. Likewise, as the reader progresses through the book, the reader is able to understand and implement more complex Python and penetration techniques. Although the primary focus of this book is the use of Python, it would not be complete without the use of other commonly used tools. The incorporation of Nmap, Metasploit, and other tools allows the reader to become familiar with those tools and incorporate them in Python scripting. This book provides a sound foundation for the reader to be able to develop his or her own tools.

Anybody looking to learn Python or to learn more about penetration testing should buy this book. It is a good read and is definitely educational.

About the Author

GOZO SHIODA, born in Tokyo in 1915, became the outstanding student of Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of modern aikido. Holder of the ninth rank black belt, he founded the Yoshinkan school of aikido, of which he is chief instructor. He is also chief instructor for the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, the Air Self defense Force, the Japanese National Railways, Sophia University, Meiji Gakuin University and Takushoku University, his alma mater.

Good book

I bought this book a long time ago not knowing if it was good or not. At the time I was not practicing Aikido,but I always wanted to learn something about it. I had a few years of experience in other martial arts. I think this is a good book. The pictures show fairly good the techniques. Some angle may be confusing if you are not a martial artist, but for the most part you can understand the purpose of each technique. A book will never replace a Sensei but is a good guide. I highly recommend it, because of the pictures display on each technique. The general information on Aikido history is pretty good too. Bare in mind like other have said that some schools of Aikido may do some things a little different, but in theory everything is the same. I also bought Shioda Sensei latest book that should tell you how much I liked this one.
I now practice Aikido and appreciate better having bought the book years ago. I hope this helps.

Great example of Aikido in Self Defence

This is a great reference book for all Aikidoka, especially for those who practice Aikido for self defence needs. This book provides a basic look at the Yoshinkan style of Aikido, the style taught to the Tokyo police for self defence. It includes detailed pictures and explanations of all the basic techniques and includes an area at the end that illustrates the effectiveness of these Aikido techniques in typical scenarios that require self defence. As an instructor, it provided me with a great basis from which to develop other Aikido techniques into more practical self defence forms.

Ultimate introduction to real Aikido

Dynamic Aikido by Gozo Shioda Sensei is the first book on Aikido I ever bought. To date I have not seen any book so well written and thought out as an introduction to Aikido as a martial art.

Many other books on the market concentrate on the spiritual or even meta-physcial aspects of Aikido and to be honest, should be stocked in the Theological or even fantasy / Sci-Fi sections of the book store.

This book brings it all down to the ground, and shows step by step with amazing detail and accuracy all the basic techniques of Yoshinkan Aikido.

Though no substitute for a real class, this book is the ultimate text book for the beginner Aikidoka.

something new for her

Another part in this series.
After her secret has come out to the parents of one of her students, she finds out she likes it to be their sub a lot.
In this story she is in for something new, being a pet.
She is not afraid at all, she does have questions, but can't asks them, but she likes it a lot what they do to her. For me what they do to her, could have been written in more detail especially what they did to her in the first round, the second round is described better.
But it stops at the moment when it will get real interesting for her.

Absolutely Poisonous Book

This book is poison. I have to characterize it that way because it is so crude and unnecessarily graphic in places that I can't possibly recommend that someone read it despite it containing some kernels of truth and good advice. It's inappropriate for a man of any age. And I write this not as someone who is unexposed to the world, but rather as an attorney who has represented rapists, child abusers and molesters. This book is simply no respite from the endless drumbeat of depraved sexuality in culture, and it is a disgusting and gratuitous sexuality at that. For instance, did the author need to tell us how he learned about masturbation? And how to do it? Including lubricant? Also, did the author need to burden us by telling us by name who his favorite centerfold was? (I keep asking myself--what if that woman is/becomes a Christian? Why has he perpetuated her shame for others to read?) The graphic nature of the text is unbelievably bad. Truly awful. Toward the end of the book there are some kernels of truth, but the balance of the book is so outrageous and unbiblical in its graphic depictions that I could never, ever recommend that a Christian or non-Christian alike read this book. The authors have a lot of emotional and spiritual growing up to do before they put books like this in the marketplace. I won't project bad intentions onto the authors, but I will categorically say that their execution is an epic spiritual fail. Mothers, and even fathers, may think that this is the 'strong medicine' that needs to be administered to sons who are caught up in pornography or sexual activity. It is not. This is not the only way to communicate with a young person. No matter how severe his problem with lust and pornography, this book is poison and unredeemable and seriously risks titillating an already lustful mind through its descriptions of furtive sexual acts and thoughts. And this review is coming from a criminal defense attorney who has sat through days of graphic courtroom testimony about sex with minors.

A MUST READ for anyone who has a son especially in this social media day & age. Don't hesitate as you can't go wrong in helping your child and preparing them in these bombarding times! Suggest you read it first then have your son read it and review it together (father & son or Mom too). It was suggested to us by a licensed therapist and so glad they did.

Clear, concise, and critical

A great contribution to both urban sociology and a more nuanced and critical understanding of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I will say however that there is much left out and many more theoretical tools/frameworks that could be used. But that is to be expected given the length of the work.

Honest Review

5 amazing, mentally disturbed Stars

Let me start by saying for those of you who focus solely on the fluffy romance books, with a happy ever after, this book is more than likely not for you. However, for those who are fans of dark reads (and let me tell you I thought the first book was the darkest book I'd ever read) then prepare to be taken on one hell of a journey, because this second installment is hands down the darkest book I have ever had the pleasure of reading.

I can say with absolute certainty there is not one character in this book, other than Ivy (for now), who is not warped in someway. If you were to read about these characters in real life, if this story was to appear in the news, you would be hoping and praying that they were caught, convicted and thrown in a maximum security mental facility, never to be heard of again.

However, as is often the case in the fictional world, you may find yourself actually liking one or two characters and despite me hating Roman with a vengeance in book one, I found him to be almost loveable in this book, although I really do use that term loosely.

As a fan of pretty much all genres of fiction, It is not often that I am shocked and haunted by scenes, even ones of torture, so let me put it into context. Certain scenes in this book literally had me scared to read any more. If I could have dived behind the sofa, because I was to afraid to read on, I would have. I winced and squirmed through so many scenes in this book.

Some may wonder why anyone would want to read something like that and in all honesty, I can't tell you, but Kimber S Dawn, as lovely as you most likely are, you have one twisted imagination and made me feel things and have empathy with characters I shouldn't have and that is why I loved this book. Yes, I enjoy a hearts and flowers kind of romance, but sometimes you just need a book so dark, you wonder whether you will be able to come out the other side and quite frankly I don't think I did.

A new level of dark and twisted

Roman's Redemption held a lot of promise in the title. I had very mixed feelings from the first book, and took a lot of time to process the outcome. While waiting for this follow up to release, I enjoyed the teasers and was excited to find out more about Mace and her role in the story. Despite my background in dark and twisted books, I was not prepared for Mace's story.

This storyline does have all the components of a dark erotic novel. Being in the mind of several dark minds caused me to put this book down a lot! It was something I couldn't read in a few days. I felt the story was a bit choppy, but it could because I was reading it in sections at a time.

This book does end in a slight cliffhanger, but I am told by the author that the next book will be focused on a different couple. I hope we will be able to wrap up Roman & Heather's story in that book.

Will I read it? Probably. I'm curious enough to need the outcome of their story.

I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars because it does follow the criteria of it's genre. As a blogger, I try not to let so many personal opinions get in the way when I'm on the fence about content. I do love this author and will continue to read her stories.

Dark and twisted and...

...not in an erotica way. This had some sick and disturbing scenes in it so beware. It was definitely more hardcore than book 1 and that's saying something. I enjoyed it but I did feel that, at times, the story got away from the author. There was a lot going on... lots of side stories. It didn't take away from my enjoyment but gave the book kind of a crazy train feel. Don't know, maybe that was the point.
